Can't really give you an adjective on the news right now. I finally, two days after a classmate found out she got in, got a letter saying I was not accepted into the summer research program I applied for. So, we have:

• frustration about the notification system


• disappointment at not getting into a really good program


• relief at not getting into a 40+-hour-a-week job that starts before my finals are over


• renewed uncertainty about whether to work or flop this summer


• backed-up worries about money, going to university, etc. etc. argh

Anybody got a word for what the news is? I need a similar one far too often.

I think the word might be "qualified"? As in "qualified good news" or "qualified bad news"? I always think of that as what you say when it's not completely one way or the other.

"Qualified news" by itself just sounds like it's fit to print. I can't even assign a base adjective to be qualifying, so I don't think that works.

Anyway. Probable free time this summer. Yay.

the word i mostly use for similar situations/feelings is AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH.
