sometime to return

I'm back from Bend. It was a good trip (which I just typed as "god trip", which works) and there were some very cool things. I'll probably have time to write a trip report and post geode photos tonight.

Also, I would like to thank Jake for mentioning the < lj-cut > tag to me when I first started posting here. My friends page was very, very long this morning.

The drawbacks to working in the perfect place to see Independence Day fireworks have begun to manifest themselves. We are also, evidently, in the perfect place to be hovered over by a very loud two-bladed military helicopter. There is some conjecture that it's going to be pulling a flag behind it or something for the celebration and that it is therefore rehearsing. It was neat to see it up close the first couple of times.

It seems to have gone away for the moment.

"Flaunt" and "flout" are different things. I would like people to look them up and then use them in the non-confused sense so I don't have to be grouchy. I hate when words get rendered indistinct like that.
