I got to show off my fannishness last night. There isn't much of it, so it was a nice opportunity. Dwayne at the U Bookstore was talking to some guy about various books, and as I wandered around the island they wandered onto the topic of James Schmitz. One of them liked Telzey, one Trigger, so I had to pipe up in favor of Nile, and then they bemoaned the ugliness of the English printing of Witches of Karres (which is bright bright yellow with black Times printing on). They wished Baen would reprint them but they had evidently failed to notice that such a venture was planned and we'd been informed in the endnotes. I whisked The Hub off the shelf and exhibited the notes. Yes, I am a book geek.

The biggest split end I ever saw just came out of my hair. It had eight separate splits. It looked like a feather. The only other time I've seen one like that, it turned out to be a feather. (*embarrassed cough*) I think maybe I need a trim.

Ooh, Nicola Griffith reading at Kane Hall on April 24.

I would recommend someone to do your trim, but, well.

Oh, hey, I think I know what you mean. No, I don't believe I would want that, thank you.

What is is about that author? My conservative hick co-worker came by and tried to walk off with Trigger and Friends, so I promised him the first two volumes.
