gone away

Today's the day. I'm up early in some sort of futile effort to get things done and possibly avoid the worst of jet lag (through what I think is a crackpot strategy of sleeping on the plane -- I was going to try staying up very late and sleeping late, but I was tired and went with the backup plan). I still have a lot of packing to do. The flight is at 6 tonight, which means the we should probably leave around 2, things being as they are. I am going to miss the cats and they're not going to understand why I'm gone.
It will be fun. It will be an adventure. I just haven't been away for anything like this long since I had responsibilities of my own.

So yes, off to England, it will be great and my melancholia probably has to do with the fact that it's early. I won't be totally out of touch while there, but I am planning to fall behind on everything. I'll be back on February 5th to sleep lots and be indignantly meowed at. 'Bye for now.
