I have a plot. Some of you may know that having a plot to make people happy pleases me greatly.

My mom and I have a Christmas tradition that we get wintergreen candy canes and hang them on the tree. We don't get to eat them until Christmas. Somehow, wintergreen candy canes have become harder to find since I was a child, and I don't live with my parents any more, so we've sort of let it lapse. I try to get them every year, but I don't try that hard any more.

This year, though, someone brought some to work and I found out where she got them. I went to the nearest instance of that store, and there they were. Whee! So I've got a box of wintergreen candy canes -- well, one for my mom, that other one is mine -- and I'm going down to her office, where I've never been, at lunchtime to surprise her with them. I do hope it works out; I called Dad and he thought she'd be there all day, but he wasn't completely sure.

I don't think they have a tree at all this year, and my little Norfolk pines are not up for supporting a full-sized candy cane, but we does what we can for the tradition. (Singing "Good King Wenceslas" while driving somewhere is probably not in the cards this year, but I'll try to fit it in too.)

It went really well despite confusing elevators at the Key Bank Building. I got to meet her cool boss, too.
