I thought it was disgusting - mostly because of the attitudes of the doctors. Grrrr!! Of course getting your tongue pierced is hazardous, because out of the hundreds of thousands (millions?) of people who have had it done, less than a dozen have come up with serious infections. But there's no problems with getting your earlobes pierced by a nervous 19-year-old at the EarBauble Hut at the mall - it's perfectly safe to pierce your ears, nobody's ever had any nasty complications from that, no sir! Just all those other horrible body piercings that are so unsafe and icky and ugly - not that societal standards have anything to do with how relative hazards are portrayed.

ARRRRRGH!!! It's always so - refreshing to see the blinders that scientists wear. :P

well, I wouldn't have if I'd known I would have gotten POPUP WINDOWS. please warn us before that happens.. brain infections are one thing, but popup windows are completely intolerable
