I had a productive weekend. I finished "Gifted" after only a little over nine hours' work (spread over a month or so, not just the one weekend). The grey-and-white one, first in the skies series, has been done for a while; I wore it to the theater Saturday night.

Here's a close-up on the clasp of "Gifted".
I really like the pictures I took of necklaces in this sunbeam, even though you can't see much detail of "Gifted".

Here's the other necklace on black, on green (which shows the character of the beads best), and (probably the best overall picture) on white in the sunbeam.

And I remembered what I wanted to ask Tamora Pierce, so I don't have to ask technocracygirl if I can borrow her question. Life is good.

And hey, if anyone actually had any money, they might be interested to know that the skies one is for sale. Though "Gifted" is not, I could make a similar piece if someone wanted it.

Had to go and calculate while I had all my records handy. :)
Skies 1 would cost $70. Vintage beads and sterling silver make it a little higher than it would be otherwise. A similar necklace to "Gifted" would probably come in around $120, but I can't say for sure how long it would take. Part of the working time is composition time, for which I have decided I do get paid. :) So if I get stuck it'll be longer, and if it goes well it won't be so long. ($120 is padded; it came out nearer $100 when I estimated based on how long the second strand took.) Wrapped links take longer, but I can use a better variety of stones; they usually have awfully small holes, so stronger wire won't fit.
