outfit pics
Oct. 11th, 2013 11:11 pmI got these dot tights to go with a dress that's too revealing for the lab, but if we were having polka-dot day I wanted to make them work somehow.

So I cut off the black jeans that were too short for me to make shorts. It's not trendy to have cuffed denim shorts just now, but I liked how the folded bit echoed the layering on my shoes. And I'm planning to rework the shorts into a short skirt later, so hemming would've been a waste of effort.
I looked and looked for a white or blue top, but didn't find anything satisfactory. This was the original "making a spectacle of my body in Japan" top, which I rarely wear, and which is now a little too big, but I love how the color looks with the black and blue. There are horizontal white stripes on the cardigan, though you can't see them in this shot.

Mostly the outfit looked like this, because it's too cold in the lab building and I was sitting still most of the day. With my coat on, outside, I was very much in the "too styled for Seattle" category again today. TWO patterns?! Strange looks abounded. (It's a smidge chilly for shorts, but not that bad.) Legs as a design element were a success, though!

These earrings were a gift from my ex N. The blue circles don't have enough context to be polka dots, but are at least in keeping with the theme.

I feel like I'm giving you all a skewed idea of my fashion sense with the things I choose to photograph: yesterday I wore jeans and a sweater like a normal person. Maybe I'll post some of those outfits too.
