my week just got better

I finished my journal club presentation! It went quite well, though I sped through it much too quickly. Lucky for me, people are rarely unhappy to be let out early. It was a fun morning hanging out in the cafe and getting really in-depth with the material, though as always I need to balance that better with practicing the talk proper so I falter less and remember to say everything I thought up in my cleverness. People in this journal club don't talk all that much, which means I can't count on showing off through question-answering.

Because of this and lunch with my mom and foot X-rays, I've barely been in the lab all week. Now I come to find out from papersky that the new Foreigner novel is out. Do I go GET IT NOW and READ IT NOW, thus doing no useful work whatsoever? There is SUNSHINE out there. And I do have to return Project Runway today.

although i admit i'm a slacker and haven't read _regenesis_ yet. i love cherryh, but she's kind of like being put through a wringer.

Alas, Regenesis is not really like being put through a wringer at all. I was hoping for more. But it is fun to see people again.

Amazon says Deceiver is in stock! I am going to make such a fuss if the U Bookstore doesn't have it yet.
