good things
May. 2nd, 2010 09:01 pmIn the interests of not being all whining all the time, I would like to mention that:
(1) I just biked all the way home from the lab, including the last steep bit, and my knees are only feeling a little like they might want to pop. Go knees! Go thigh muscles!
(2) It was still light out, though cloudy and chilly. Happy summer to me.
(3) Despite schedule fuckery of which the less said the better, Wim and I successfully attended most of the Seattle Symphony matinee this afternoon. We caught almost all of Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 2, which was a fine thing, and after intermission I was blown away by the over-the-top glory of John Adams' Harmonielehre, which used many instruments I had never even heard of before. (Civ IV players might recognize the piece, according to Wikipedia.)
(4) I have a bowl full of paper cranes. Superior to a bucket of does? Discuss.
(5) Someone else had been listening to Dave and Tracy in the confocal room. My mind-control-via-available-CDs plan is working!
