Wim and I saw rehearsal for part of the Seattle Center Winter Solstice Fire Festival Sunday evening on our way to marzipan_pig's birthday party. Fire is always so compelling, and the spinning poi reflected in the brushed-metal fountain dome were amazing. I need to figure out when I can go (amid all the holiday craziness of having loads of local family).

Oh, that looks really cool. Alas, I'm going to be so busy I don't think I'm even going to be able to do the sing-along Messiah thing.

(Also, I had to go Google "spinning poi" in order to rid myself of a mental image of taro root paste tumbling around in the air. Now it makes much more sense. :) )
