Lunch
Beer-and-coconut-battered cod tacos on the porch at Agua Verde, looking out at a perfectly gorgeous day on the lakes. Transport to and from in a fancy new convertible (not mine) of a surprisingly attractive though bilious color.
Dinner
Clam chazuke at Kozue: spicy soup with whole clams, fish, octopus, shrimp, shiitakes, and matchstick vegetables including ginger and carrot; served next to a giant onigiri in a separate bowl, over which one spoons the soup and then eats both together. The onigiri had a strip of nori on! and sat on a big shiso leaf, yum. Also, lovely ume-shiso and yellowtail rolls.
Dessert
New ice-cream place Molly Moon has some amazing-sounding stuff. I tried a single scoop of strawberry-balsamic on a sugar cone; it was quite good despite not quite living up to its concept. Next time I'm getting the salted caramel kind!
All within walking distance of where I sleep, just as if I were at Wiscon. So there.
