Night Market!
May. 11th, 2008 04:26 pmYesterday was the UW Taiwanese Students' Association Night Market, yay!
marzipan_pig and I went, and found it much more crowded than last year, partly with more non-Asian people and more kids. Interesting. The space they're using really wasn't sufficient; hope they made tons of money, but also that they expand into adjacent areas next time.
Foods eaten: Popcorn chicken (pretty good), Taiwanese sausages with sweet sauce and minced garlic (fantastic), taro milk tea (a little bland, with a zillion tapioca pearls), bamboo rice wrap (really good, tons of great fillings).
Other Taiwanese food recently includes delicious stuff from Rocking Wok. (Menu page 1 and page 2, scanned as big old jpgs with legible hanzi.) Thousand-layer pancakes rock my world.

The ones that strike me as particularly Taiwan are the oyster w/ egg/veggie and the stinky tofu.
