Moving over an entire month sucks, too; it wasn't just because we were up for days straight last time.

People on Freecycle are fucking flakes.

I get sick of eating out all the time in less than a week.

If you leave your new, beautiful armoire (obtained on an adventure to suburbia in the SNOW) out overnight with its door closed, the cats will think they can fit through the decorative ironwork. They cannot, and their hind claws will make nasty scratches on the front of the expensive furniture as they try.

Our friends are nice people and I should be letting them help us move!

Yes. Yes, they are. I've pretty much given up on Freecycle at this point.

moving in general sucks. when i moved into this house it didn't suck very badly emotionally but that was because it sucked badly financially-- i hired movers.

moving is one of the few things that makes me want to get rid of all of my books.

We did not hire movers, but we did pay double rent for this month. Still the badness! The books are less annoying than the "why do I have this?" stuff and all the furniture that I never realized was holding my stuff up.

I do not understand the getting rid of books urge. All my clothes, yes. All my miscellaneous crap and 99% of my hobbies? Every last plant and animal within sight? Yes. All my ugly old furniture that I can't bear to part with? Yes, yes yes. But books? Books are EASY to move. Even when they are kind of mismatched. And easy to store, too.

I mean, relative to all the other crap that agglomerates around my hermit shell.

OH NOES THE ARMOIRE.

Those are kitties of badness, they are, and I knew they would LIKE that thing but not that they would CLAW IT UP.

I'm kind of happy I got rid of so much but mostly it was b/c being away from it for 3 months made it less mine.
