This morning: Saw two sea gulls fighting, biting at each other's necks and wings, and grappling beak-to-beak. Youtube informs me that sea gulls mating look like other birds mating, so that probably wasn't it. (And also that, should we want to show Kaga cockatiel pron next time she's sad peeping horny bird, Youtube is up to the challenge.) No idea what the two would have been fighting about -- no apparent food or babes were involved.

This afternoon: I am uninjured, partly due to good luck. As I turned up the arterial to my house on my bike, a woman in a silver car decided I wasn't there, and drove onto the street from a side road. I am proud of myself; I did what I had mentally trained myself to do, which was yelling HEY! really loudly. That's part of why I wasn't even pushed down, because she knew there was a problem and had at least stopped accelerating. It could have still gone horribly wrong, because in order not to fall I steered left into the street, but it is not a very busy street and no cars were close. Larger and even more obnoxious lights on the bike are called for.

We saw pigeons pecking in the park in a way that Vicka identified as mating behavior, though it just looked like a squabble to me.

I also thought I had a plant question but I can't remember it at all.

I fed Pietro-the-canary the other night and got him to make little noises at me.
