Insight from day 1:

Grad students don't only eat ramen because it's what we can afford; we also eat ramen because it is the absolute easiest hot thing to make when we are dead tired.

Absolutely. And that's why I keep a stash in my cupboard even now, years after grad-studenting and too-tight budgets.
