morning pollinators

jinianI'm watering the garden every morning during our little heat wave, hoping to keep all my plants alive and happy. Today I went out around 9, when it was still pleasant outside, and saw several excellent insects.
Three or four cabbage butterflies passed by; one visited a cat's ear.
A little metallic-green bee collected pale pollen from morning glories into long leg-baskets, but was driven off by tiny ants.
An adorable bee slightly bigger than a honeybee, black-shaded, carrying a thick coat of pollen all over the bottom and sides of the abdomen -- I think a female Osmia lignaria -- was all over the cupid's dart.
