Jun. 9th, 2001 10:59 pmThe fish tank is back in business. It was working before, of course, and everyone's alive, but it now has completely replenished water supplies and considerably cleaner gravel. I ended up taking out about half the plants, too. Fin and Feather had expressed interest, so we'll see how they react to receiving a big bag o' wet herbiage. I'm going to replant some of the stuff within the next few days, but it had just multiplied way too much and the way it was all competing for the sunny corner was causing giant algal mats to grow up back there, not to mention the more general goo accumulation. So there will be re-sub-aqueous-terraforming going on for another few days, I expect.
Holden the giant plecostomus really needs a new home. He's around 14 inches at last approximation, and the 65-gallon tank just isn't big enough for him to be anything but cramped. He also digs up my plants with the mere current of his passage. :P Maybe F&F will take him, too, but I don't think they have bigger tanks. I checked ebay a while ago but there didn't seem to be a "live animals" category. What's with that?
