green-grape earrings

Had to make ear wires because I can't find any. The fine blue cylindrical Dremel tip is best for rounding off wire ends for now, though I hope to someday find a fine-grained cup shape of a reasonable size for this job. The hooks did come out much more visually linked to the rest of the piece than would've been possible with any of the ready-mades I have.
It's been an oddly productive day. Very glad we opted out of Christmas Eve dinner; we're not actually sleeping, but having some down/home time after the plane flight is really helping me feel less exhausted after our slightly frenetic fun-having in SF. I made a big pot of split-pea soup, plus Wim started dough for sweet rolls and we collaborated on candying orange peels from the delicious little Californian mandarins we brought home. The cats are velcroishly glad to see us home, and even the bird seemed happy when we came to pick her up. (Of course, then I removed her from nestable places a couple of times, and that was the end of that.)
Here's what I didn't do: Wrap presents. But we don't have to go anywhere until 1 tomorrow, and I only have a few presents to wrap for that moiety.
