some stuff down, big stuff to go
Oct. 23rd, 2006 10:12 amScholarship application for need/merit dollars from the U.Done and awarded! This still seems very weird to me, but it's a good weird.Test #1 in vector calculus. The best I can say about this is that it's now over. The professor passed the tests out early, so I didn't get to review my flash cards the last time; unfortunately, since I'd just come from lab meeting, I really needed those cards to regear my brain. I forgot two of the formulas I needed. Even partial credit on those questions is doubtful. Ugh. Maybe I should bag this math-minor idea.Scholarship application for research.Done, though I had to wait for PI to finish my recommendation letter at the last minute. I did get it in on time, though, and my essay was pretty good (though I still feel dorky promoting myself so hard).- [ETA]
Wedding.Apparently the legal wedding between Wim's mom and her guy happened some weeks ago, but I made my appearance at the ceremony and that's over with. Good points: I allowed people to dress me up, which was fun for all of us; I escaped early citing need to study, which was possible because Wim's sister had to get to the airport. Bad points: Still don't like the guy, and I miss being able to go visit without having to deal with crummy social situations. - Test #2 in stats. Probability stuff. This should go well provided I can finish two chapters' worth of work by tomorrow noonish when the test is. Not unreasonable considering the lightness of the chapters and my existing knowledge of probability.
- GRE. I've done some practice testing and gotten acceptable scores. If I don't shoot for perfect, though, I won't get it. Planning one more practice exam this afternoon and a little vocabulary review before the exam tomorrow evening. Also taking ginkgo for enhanced brain-thinky, because I am credulity girl. Unlike the other stuff, this can be retaken if I bomb it (or my pride will not admit of receiving a mediocre score).
My prize for surviving all this will be a video game: Okami. (Link is Flashy with music, but shows niftiness. As usual, Wikipedia is most informative.)
