registration zombie

So here I am, up at 6am because that's when my window for registration for spring quarter starts, and they're doing unscheduled maintenance on the student services webstuff. I don't usually get up, but lots of plant courses are only offered in spring because that's when flowers are out, and I need some of them for my degree. Since I'm planning to graduate next winter, I got up. And look where it got me. Grah. I go to eat someone's brain. Or maybe just cereal, it is awfully damned early to be chasing humans.

yes, but that early in the morning, most humans are moving very slowly.

speaking as someone who works in academic computing, i am willing to bet that they are hopping quick like bunnies to fix it; "unscheduled maintenance" frequently means "shit! it broke! aaaaaagh!"

Oh, I'm sure that's what it meant. But this isn't the first registration day or anything, so I was still pretty annoyed. They did get it up in under an hour.
