more university stupidity

I feel that it is suboptimal for me to hate the UW before starting there, but they certainly don't seem to be concerned. The envelope that came today has all the same things they sent before, but this letter has a due date for payment 11 days later than the other one, and now there's a booklet which at least has a possibly-spurious set of seven steps to take. I'm on two. ARGH. FUCKWITS FUCKWITS FUCKWITS. Clearly summer advising occurring between July and September is NOT GOING TO HAPPEN BEFORE SUMMER QUARTER.

Also the booklet is really slipshod, sometimes saying transfer-relevant things and sometimes failing to acknowledge our existence. And can we register without the measles test or not? Now they're just saying you can't come to campus if there's an outbreak.

Dumb but at least funny: A diploma-like certificate to make sure everyone knows I got accepted to school. You know, in case I just wanted to quit now.

Blargh. What asses. The diploma-ish thing sounds hilarious though, you should definitely frame it as a joke. Maybe hang it over the toilet.

Probably a standard part of the acceptance package -- it's a lot more exciting when you're a HS senior. (Well, it was at my school, anyway, but I went to a residential geek school. Seniors posted acceptance letters buy their dorm room doors.

If they're goonish enough, they implement graduation by having you bring your acceptance certificate up on the stage and get it stamped "also, finished."

Eh, don't hate the whole University - just the administrative bit of it. Most university administration is incompetent, it seems to be par for the course. I think puzzling your way through the bizarre contradictions in the literature is probably the last admission test ;)
