Frosty yesterday and this morning, to my surprise. Luckily only primroses and snow peas have been planted recently. Pruned the roses that are going all leafy, but held off on pruning the one that didn't bloom last year, since it seems to be a slow starter. Some of the tulips and crocuses coming up in the lawn are now protected from the mower by swaths of weedless, grassless dirt, so I figure maybe they'll be able to bloom next year. The garlic from cloves last year is making robust little bamboo-forests, and there are seedlings too.

Worked two hours last night and eight hours today, unrelated to each other. The day job is a four-week (according to the agency) or "couple"-week (according to the customer) position doing mostly data entry for onlineshoes.com, who have a well-designed and rather dangerous web site. Being me, I managed to find an error on it in the first fifteen minutes I was there; unlike in most places, that feat didn't seem to cause any points to be assigned, positive or negative. They seem pretty nice. The two-hour thing was what I hope will be the completion of bookkeeping tweaks for one of the guys in my mom's office.

I have PB! written on my hand, and it's not for "peanut butter" or "pie boy", though I tried to pull the latter on Wim tonight. No, it is because Online Shoes is on Eastlake, and I found out today that Eastlake has wonderful imprinted-concrete art in the sidewalks, edged with art glass, with the excuse of telling you the cross streets. The imprints are things like "fungi on a leaf" and "dandelion pollen", things that are there by the road and you don't see them. eub, you must come visit: PB! is for pillbugs. (Pictures eventually.)

Those are so great, I know which decorations of which you speak! (And they help me with my 'streets named after people/concepts people have left me for' issue with the street names on Eastlake).
