Both of the roses that died back so hard during the heat are putting out new canes! We'll find out eventually whether they're rootstock or graft, but they both look like the right kind of leaves.

The crows are making the trill-gargle that I associate with mating season, though surely they must have some other reason for it right now.

Blooming:
  • Alyssum

  • Lithodora

  • Rosemary

  • Cherry trees! (some of which had orange leaves with their flowers)

  • Narcissus, and not just the forced ones

  • Lavender

  • Roses

  • Calendula

  • Lots of other things I'm forgetting

  • Plus practically everything else, if just one or two blossoms count.

Also, thankful and stuff. Will be more thankful when twenty people have eaten and socialized at my house successfully.
