quick garden note
Oct. 19th, 2004 05:03 pmEarly Girl is still gamely ripening tomatoes, despite weeks of coolth and the damp getting into the fruit almost as soon as it's ripe. They're not the best tasting of the season, but she gets a lot of points for effort.
Anonymous Tomato ripened two fruit total, and not until after the nicest weather had gone. They were lackluster. I'm saving seeds, though, to see whether more careful management can get good results.
Lots of things are reblooming. I have a little white primrose out back. (Second spring is the one with the colorful trees.)

Date: 2004-10-19 09:56 pm (UTC)I love reblooming - it surprised me this year. I have a couple of primroses too, plus weigela and even a few rhodie blossoms.
I'm greedily hoping for a little more sun in the next few days so that I can have a few more roses before we go on vacation next week.
