crows are smart

I just put out a dry bread end, broken into bits, on the paved area in back. A crow has taken one, found it awfully hard to subdivide, and promptly flown it over to the neighbors' back porch. It's standing in their fountain eating its dunked bread very happily now.

Why, just the other day I saw a crow faced with tough bread who built its own machine shop, from scratch, on the spot, in order to produce a properly edged and tempered bread knife!
