We just pulled... I would say something like two hundred daffodils out of [livejournal.com profile] eub's garden. Or, rather, we did that while it was light out, and I just finished planting them. (They are in pots, since there's a grape-hyacinth quarantine on Eli's yard.) Many of them went back in where they came from, but I had so many to bring home that I couldn't bike all the way back carrying the bag and had to use the bike as a device of burden. It was amazing. I used every pot I had and some I didn't. Whew.

In other garden news: All of the onions and garlic seem fine after the cold weather, not even losing leaves. Some of the narcissus died back, but they're starting up again. My snow peas were of course fine, and we found some volunteers when digging daffodils today. I want to steal Eli's cyclamen. Still need a Territorial Seed catalog.

hooray for bulbed flowers!

The pot of unknown bulbed flowers that I rescued from the grocery store for $2 started blooming yesterday. A very pretty purple/yellow so I'm guessing they are crocuses. At first I thought iris but at the petals pop out more it seems unlikely.

So cool! I planted dozens of bulbs and half of them started coming up right before the snow. I'm hoping they make it through the winter and I actually have some left in the Spring.
