Thanks once again to KEXP, I have a lovely new pop band to share with you all today. The Pains of Being Pure at Heart make ethereal, happy, melancholy, yes okay it's twee but I love twee, synth-and-guitar-y musical goodness. And though there's only one woman, at least she gets top billing.
I first encountered them a couple of months ago with "Heart in Your Heartbreak." Some of you may recall that I appreciate clever lyrics, and "she was the miss in your mistake" definitely spoke to me. Every song I've heard from them has made me smile, which is enough for me to start buying albums.
To any who are not convinced by the above, I ask you: how can you not love a band with a song called "Young Adult Friction"?
