Friday night:
I met Wim at Primo Burger at what turned out to be around 3 on Friday, and we had lunch. Afterward, we went up to Vintage Costumes at 71st and Roosevelt to see if we could find him anything he wanted to wear to [livejournal.com profile] lirrin's wedding. Wonder of wonders, we did. They had a very nice rust-colored doublet, quilted with interesting shapes, that we did not get; I sort of regret that, but the color didn't really suit him. He ended up with a burgundy outfit with a lace neck-ruff and black tights, very fetching. (Pictures are linked later.)

I went home with the costume from there. This is when I missed my bus stop due to Tooth and Claw. That has never happened before! Argh! I did get home before it was time to set off for dinner, though, luckily, and it made a good story.

Mom picked me up in the car and we went to Cutter's, down at Pike Place, for dinner with some family friends. It was, as always, okay food. Mom is crazy about the smoked salmon chowder, but it's a bit salty for me, and most of their stuff is too rich. The twelve-spice noodles are fairly tasty, and the chicken in them is better, but there weren't enough vegetables at all.

Next stop: Kirkland. I'd never seen Uncle Bonsai before, though I'd heard their music when I was younger and eventually gotten some for myself. They were pretty good. Apparently, they're together as a band again, though widely separated in space, but the fact that they only do a few shows a year is very evident. The first part of the show had a lot of little lyric errors, and "Fat Boys" was a disaster. Having had a disaster, though, they were able to make fun of themselves (here meaning mainly "each other") and the show improved a lot. Arni was clearly feeling awful and I felt really bad for her, but she was still all cute and her singing was fine. Overall, it was a good concert. (Hey, on their web site right now there are some mp3s from the very concert to which I refer. Neat. It doesn't have the part on "Out The Window" where we laughed at "marrying that GIRL", though.)

Then home very tired.

What a pity. Fat Boys is a great song. But lucky you for getting to go.

I once had to walk three extra miles due to Komarr and a bus. I got on the entirely wrong bus. Er.
