I was in a bad mood all last afternoon and evening (though alleviation was accomplished by
hattifattener,
eub, and some giant ants) because I thought I'd really messed up on my physics test in the morning. Couldn't make the decimals go the right places, was positive I was wrong about Jupiter's gravitation, that person cannot have been going 400 kph at the bottom of the slide, argh.
This morning, we got our tests back -- have I mentioned that I love my physics teacher? -- and it turned out that, far from leaving out friction entirely as I thought I'd managed to do, I'd simply forgotten to take the square root of the answer. That is a one-point mistake. I got a 99. Kick ass.
Also had a very interesting lab on ferns today. Heterospory is way cool; I finally see all the steps from algae to flowering plants. Lunch with
drakemonger was lovely as well. I do think a nap might be in order once I manage to quit being so bouncy.

Date: 2003-08-07 07:34 pm (UTC)I love ferns. Spores makes them seem so alien. I used to walk through Ravenna park examining the ferns and educating people about spore reproduction. Much of my knowledge is forgotten (or very hidden) so now all I would do is make up silly spore songs.
[btw, coyotegirl and I have decided that a Nanobot song needs to be written.]

Though I have to admit that I first learned to do physics problems without touching the physics, by pure dimensional analysis -- really only one way to multiply/divide the given quantities to get the desired one. The habit stood me in poor stead later. (Also, I learned to read piano fingering instead of the score. Questionable character.)
