"Is it hailing again?" I asked no one, then got up to see whether there were ice balls on the back steps. Nope, just hard little raindrops hitting the bay window this time. I think it's hailed three times this spring, once while we were in the awful middle of moving house. So much went wrong and so much made it okay.
It's just thundered again, for the third time this spring. (Normal weather is maybe once.) I hope the fact that it's evened up doesn't mean that we're done having strange weather.
(It is not spring any more, of course, but it is spring today. If the bearded irises are blooming this early, we're not having our seasons in order. It's not quite "hoary-headed frosts fall in the fresh lap of the crimson rose", but it's a little unnerving.)
