(Also: Opera, you fucking bastard. I had a really great description here before that crash. Will try to recreate.)

Look, there's a celestial dragon. Silk-painted in white on the sky, like he's diving into the bay, and I see more than just one face on his diffuse head. The clouds below are curling up like Hokusai's wave to meet him, so maybe he's not going as far down as our earthly water after all.

Off sunward, if I lean over, there's a stromatolite executed in cloud.

The dragon is getting leaner and more whiskery as the air moves with him, and his sea is going to dark gray sprays and streams. If anything, his canine nose is getting farther away from his goal as time passes, but there could be joy in that too. Is he the bay-spirit, do you suppose?

I don't think "Elliott Bay" is a very elegant name for a dragon, though of course he might disagree. I wonder what other things it has been called before, but Google scoffs at my search terms.

Also, am incredibly amused at the concept of Zen alarm clocks (http://www.sevenrays.com/zen/hokusai_wave_face).

Opera 6 has almost trained me out of using a browser as a word processor.

hm... could be the bay-spirit. I don't think that the names we give places are any more binding to the places than the names we give cats. :]

But what about Haku? That's who the dragon was reminding me of, and his name was pretty clearly binding on him.

Haku gave his name, I think? Yours may not have even have noticed you long enough to do that yet.

*handwave* I think it was more the identification of where he belonged, than his actual name. It bound him when what's-her-name took it from him as his name, but that doesn't nessecarily mean that he thought of it as his name... if that makes any sense, and it doesn't, because I've just woken up, nyerr. :)

Mmm, yes, that makes sense. I still wonder what the bay has been called before, on the off chance that someone was right. He must have some kind of name.

celestial dragons and stromatolites. Would it be presumptuous of me to say I really like the images your head is furnished with ?

Not a bit, and thank you.
