[I don't know this man, but his head is bigger than Mt. Rainier.]
Wish I'd gone to higher quality for this, but the ferry was swinging around so sweetly to frame Rainier in the window.

Set up the fountain my half-sister gave me again, and this time it's at work. Spent happy time this morning rearranging my plants to good effect. The kalanchoe is all still infested with scale insects and will be going away from the office, maybe to live outdoors somewhere. And I don't suppose anyone wants a little jade plant. (You will have a really hard time killing it, I promise.)

Apart from telling me all about Uranus, the planet of CHANGE coming into Pisces next month, my acupuncturist made me talk about what I really want. I realized, again, that this job is a long, long, LONG way from being it. Talked to Wim about that some. Found a listing for a correspondence intro to linguistics course and one in native plant husbandry. Will I do anything or just feel like a failure?

I am willing to adopt the jade - we can nest it in the kitchen nook, and it will be watered and cared for regularly ([livejournal.com profile] panzerwalt is surprisingly good with plants).

I like that picture. I support you in whatever you do, dear. *many hugs*

When I'm anything like optimistic about such matters, I figure I'll do what I do and if I have a good time it won't be a failure. Or that if I pick some good things and keep doing them, something will come of it eventually.

Mostly, though, I wonder the same thing, in the context of needing to [make a living and maintain some kind of health insurance], and I get sick and tired of people's colored parachutes.

Nice picture.

i think an intro linguistics course could be correspondence and work out all right. and it's *fun*.

but take the phonology courses live, as it were. then you get the joy of the entire class producing bilabial fricatives at each other.
