weather; cousin and craft blather
Dec. 31st, 2002 12:52 pmIt's all silver outside, pure and lightly-tarnished yellow and shining. I can see the sunbeams slanting down onto West Seattle through the misty and mokume-gane clouds. The horizon is serrated and dark, like another planet or a faraway armory all in wrought iron. My eyes have spots from gazing out on it. Soon I'll be out there, too.
My newest second cousin was born a couple of months early on Christmas Eve. Today I saw a picture of him, his head only a little larger than his mother's palm. I'm doing the baby blanket again. Be afraid. :) This time I have Mom to help with the pestering aspect of it, though, so it'll be all right. Both his sisters have had Studio-Ghibli-themed squares from me, so it's a good thing Wim gave me those DVDs. (Actually, both were Totoro-themed, so I'm really tempted to do the end credits with small and medium Totoros flinging acorns in the air. I had thought Porco Rosso, but I don't want to switch movies now... Nominations?)
And now it's changed outside. Cheating. I thought CassieClaire was making it up when she mentioned a pinstriped sky, but there's a patch of it right there. That'll learn me.

Date: 2002-12-31 04:02 pm (UTC)I think you should do the acorn flinging Totoros. That seems very warm fuzzy baby happiness.
