3000-some-odd words about my night and morning

[Little bitty swatch of garter stitch, a.k.a. Doesn't Know How To Purl Yet stitch]

[Sunrise full moon]
I really need a camera that can do these views justice. That pink line at the horizon is a clearly delineated, glowing mountain range. Also, the moon is always much larger to my eyes than to the camera.

[Reflecting pool atop the building lobby]
Someone finally made a wish in our lobby-top pond. I followed suit with another penny.

it looks like you're coming along nicely on knitting a version of that sunrise picture, good job!

Good tension on that knitted swatch! If you need help finding patterns for larger pieces, let me know. I'm kind of inventing a pattern for a dead-easy-to-knit garter stitch long cardigan sweater/coat, ifthat's the kind of thing you might enjoy having.

Thanks! I had some trouble with the tension, but it seems to have come out okay. The pattern sounds neat.

I'm playing with purl today, so I'll be able to do ribbing and stuff soon. Excitement!

Ooo! Ooo! Me! Me! I want too! I'm just barely confident enough to be ready to try knitting something besides scarves... but I'm terrified of complicated projects. ;)

The moon rising Wednesday evening was one of those whose face and edge you see quite clear, but some invisible haze bleeds the light a little out into the blue.

Last night there was a black swath of cloud over the moon itself and glowing green above and below. Later, it was less green but there was a diagonality to the clouds it was glowing on, like herringbone writ large.

All moon is good moon.

Oooo! Pretty.

I read an explanation of the moon thing somewhere, and was ranting to the boy about it on the way home tonight. (*Stunning* moon, which did not come out nearly as large in the shot.) He mocked me, silly wee thing. I must find the explanation again.
