Wow, this person is so cool. I want him/her to want me.
This does not require that I be attracted in any way, somehow, except that the person has (usually) one salient trait that is swoonable.

I'm not exactly proud of this one, conceit-based as it is. It is not strange to me that I noticed its existence while reading through notes I'd written with people in junior high school. (Still definitely getting this one, though not unadulterated with A-type.)

Having been on the receiving end of a crush such as this, I will say that it can be heady, having someone think you're just amazingly cool and wanting you to notice them.

Doesn't work well in the long term though, unless a more equal basis for attraction can be found.

Especially since, when these befall me, I don't really like the person that much either. And usually I have no idea whether someone's even available, since this is not a crush type that is about knowing someone well at all.

Lucky me, I don't have to worry about starting anything. :) Enforced swooning-from-afar-only is annoying yet useful.

Yes. It's handy. I do worry a little that if the situation is otherwise in future I'll have lost the ability to restrain myself from rushing headlong into stupid situations.
