One might think that a person would only give herself a blister by winding jump rings once.

Oh, dear. Where is the blister situated? And which action made it?

The one I gave myself on Thanksgiving was on the upward side of my right index finger. That one healed, then broke after it was only under one layer of skin, and it's just a little ragged area now. That one makes sense, since that's the part of my finger I was using to push the wire onto the mandrel.

The one I gave myself last night is on the upper part of the middle joint of my middle finger. I can't think why.

Fortunately, I am pretty sure that all the jump rings that need to be wound for the moment have been. Cutting them and adding to the chain shouldn't hurt that part of my hand at all.

Anyone who's tried it will definitely believe you. Owie! I echo.

Not *that* part, no. Owie!

I've got some black annealed steel to wind. Boy, that's gonna blister.

Ooh, yeah. I did tell you about the trick with the carpenter's hand drill and the c-clamp, right? A person might want some additional bracing for the end of the mandrel, with steel, but I bet it'd be way easier than doing it by hand.
