really peculiar dreams

On a roof, making friends with a crow after it had bitten my finger.

Being in some kind of school, in snout's room, preparing for a costume event of some sort. Later, snout couldn't give me a ride to wherever it was because of some kind of sexual tension, and I saw lirrin setting out in her car but was too ambivalent to ask to go with.

Possibly because I was bitchy to a stupidly-capitalizing "master" posting a personal to alt.poly last night, some very weird stuff about "submissive cottages" being extremely cheap to rent. I remember elisem and coyotegirl were there at one point, and that I was wearing a sort of silky/lacy sports bra in black and tap pants in white. I was going to wear a yellow dress with elastic gathering down the sleeves and sides, but it was a touch small in the chest and I didn't have my minimizing bra.

(It was also cameo night, apparently. Mostly I don't get this many real people in my dreams.)

And what will you say if I tell you that that part came after a bit where I saw a bunch of caricatures and paintings of crows, plus some real ones, floating above the roof, and I picked out one of the real ones to interact with?

The emotions weren't prominent. I'd say that when I was being challenged to make the choice, it was "pfft, easy, who would mess this up?"; when the crow bit me, I wanted to retreat; and when I was making friends with it anyway, I'm not really sure what I was feeling -- has-to-be-done/worthwhile, maybe.

crow association

I like crows. They are neat. I see them on the power lines outside my new office quite frequently. My dad used to shoot them with the bb gun. They were vermin, so he was allowed to drive them off that way; I'm not sure why he didn't want them about. I might like a pet crow, but the robin Aunt Lil used to have seemed oily and I thought it must have been unhappy. Crows are smart! Some use tools very cleverly indeed, and some even make them. Do I want to be like a crow? -- Not really. I have the shinies tropism like a crow. Crows are like ravens, which are also very fine birds. European crows have white bits (see Kiki's Delivery Service). I'm scared of being bitten by birds, even though Kaga doesn't bite hard. I think a crow would bite hard; my finger was all swollen in my dream, which demonstrates my belief. Crows can peck out your eyes. They are black and shiny and iridescent, with black beaks and eyes. Crows' feet are strong and dextrous.

I'm starting to sound like the patent generator, so I'll stop now.

I am feeling less profound than yesterday, and this dream is getting all tangled with the plot for a story I am going to be writing.

things that still stand out for me:
- the easy choice between real and not real
- something happening because of this choice that you were scared of happening, and was painful, but it ended up ok

I like crows. I talk to them on my way to work. They have yet to talk back.
