They chopped the hell out of the holly tree on the corner by my building. It was this beautiful big irregular pillar, and some idiot has cut off years' worth of branches from the bottom five feet. Bastards.
I don't think it's going to die, but I think its habit will be permanently changed. I'm not trained in pruning beyond what I've read in my garden books, and I could do so much better on all the shrubs around my apartment building. It's like they come through with a chainsaw and cut off everything in a plane. But it doesn't matter, right? they're just plants. *spit*
The tree has been trimmed before in ways that didn't completely wreck it, and it didn't need that yet. Anyone who was walking into it needed walking lessons.
It doesn't belong to our building, and the building owner lives in Singapore or something anyway.
