listened to cub this morning
Jul. 24th, 2002 09:33 am(For you TMBG fans -- well, those I haven't already pestered with this information -- cub wrote "New York City", and they perform it in a key that's much better for me to sing it in.)
Inasmuch as Nikki and I had a song, this was it. We didn't really, of course, but I played it at her, this and "Green Eyes", and I think she liked it. Though she never told me she didn't like the Project A-Ko soundtrack until I'd told someone she did, so heck if I know what she really thought. That was rather a common problem with us.
She said it was romantic. I didn't use words like that back then, much, still being entrapped by my cutephobia. It is, though. I agree. And that from her, who, faced with a confession of love, said "what do you want to have happen?" Heh. I think I have grown more sensible in the few years since then, but I think I was ahead of her in some ways even then.
Meet me down on the corner
We'll talk it over
You'll see me
If I don't see you first
Make sure you bring some quarters
And we'll go get a soda
Hop a bus
I'll show you my new dress
Sunday afternoon
Nothing much to do
But there's no-one I'd rather do nothing with than you
Tell me a secret and I'll
Give you a kiss
I'll make a cake for you if
You'll just make a wish
Meet me down by the river
It's hot, but you make me shiver
Lets go under the pier
We'll take off all our clothes
Sunday afternoon
Nothing much to do
But there's no-one I'd rather do nothing with than you
