I am now taking 16 pills in the morning, not counting Aleve, which I've needed every day for a while now, or Benadryl, ditto. Yay vitamins. Yay Chinese herbs.
(http://www.livejournal.com/userinfo.bml?user=simonelo)simonelo (http://www.livejournal.com/users/simonelo/) can tell you about some of real unpleasant things that can happen. hope you get something better to treat your headaches with. and thanks for the reminder to take my vitamin. :)
Cal-Mag-Zinc x2 (mainly for the zinc, which is supposed to aid in tissue repair) B6 x1 (immune system support) Lysine x1 (the acupuncturist's pendulum said I was low. it's bizarre but seems to work.) Glucosamine herbal mixture x3 (for joint problems, which aren't so bad but why have them?) Echinacea & Goldenseal x2 (has been no help at all; I now have a cold) B complex x1 (to help deal with stress) Methionine x1 (for headaches) Liu wei di huang wan a.k.a. Six Flavor Rehmanni Extract x? (for energy stagnation) Xiao yao wan a.k.a. Relaxx Extract x? (for stress)
It takes a while to tell whether vitamins are helping, but the Chinese herbs do seem to be making a difference. (The reason those two are variable is that the acupuncturist taught me a weird muscle-testing thing that I'm supposed to do every time to see how much of them I need. Mostly it's between one and three of each.) I can tell that the energy stagnation is better because I'm getting fewer overheated spells and waking up less at night, and my energy level is more even instead of going from zonked out to buzzy, or being both ways at the same time.
