in the middle of our street
Mar. 7th, 2002 10:05 amI picked up the Strangler this morning and read an article about the Ave on my way to work. (Yeah, I took the bus. I'm not feeling well.) The article doesn't say exactly what I see in the Ave, but it's closer than anything else I've seen.

Date: 2002-03-07 12:04 pm (UTC)yeah, it's gotten worse in an ickier way in 10 years but I had forgotten that yeah, U Village wasn't always the monstrosity it is now either, and everyone has ALWAYS (the entire 10+ years I have lived in seattle) complained about the ave one way or another, some kind of 'going downhill'.
losing the pier 1 right on 45th seemed like a weird 'worse than usual' symtom to me though, in my mind that place was supported by better-off families buying their daughters dorm and apt furniture while the daughters secretly snuck off to the hippiish stores to get what what they relaly want. how will that happen now that those people just hang at u village, hmm?
