Dec. 6th, 2001 10:59 amYesterday I stayed home from work. I felt a little queasy (probably due to hunger, really) and used that as a brilliant excuse to not torture myself. I went out shopping, forgetting it's December, and escaped mostly unscathed with several things I needed and a few more that I just wanted.
I hadn't asked for it, but I received a very definite sign from the universe or whatever that staying home was The Right Thing. At 2:20, I got a phone call. I put on my extra-sick voice, figuring it was work, and answered. The person on the other send said she was the mail carrier, and she had a parcel for me. Ooh. Okay. So I skibbled downstairs in my sock feet and got a package from
baratron with two mix cds in it. Yay! So cool!
I went back to playing FF8, using my newly acquired memory card (it's green!), until I was interrupted by the phone again at 3. Same drill, only this time it was the postman with a package. (I'm just really amused by the different terms.) So I opened that one, and it was a good-sized box from my friend Sue, who had offered to send me a particular book. Instead, she sent me about a dozen books, some of which I've read but most of which I have never even heard of. I danced around a bit. Very, very cool.
The link of the morning is here. SF readers, take note!
