Congratulations and I'm sorry, both at once. That sounds like a really awesome job, and really good work to be doing for science, and also I'm sorry the academic job track didn't work out. It's a deeply messed up system, and it's chewed up and spit out so many great and brilliant people, and that's a loss every time.
But mostly I'm happy for you that you've got such a great and interesting job lined up, and I hope it turns out to be even more delightful than you're expecting!
