May. 16th, 2015 01:28 pmLADY DOCTOR #1: So, about the makeouts we performed.
LADY DOCTOR #2: Yes, that was a thing.
LADY DOCTOR #1: Thing is, I'm not queer, I just like you.
LADY DOCTOR #2: Coincidentally, that is also the case with me.
LADY DOCTORS exeunt for additional totally non-lesbian makeouts.

Date: 2015-05-18 03:34 pm (UTC)This is just me failing to understand the actual conventions of American media, because I consume so little of it compared to Asian media (which is also not a lot really). So no actual crossdressing, I just thought there would have to be, because I haven't seen an American show do the "only gay for you" thing before, whereas in basically all crossdressing shows at least one straight person has a crush on the crossdressing protagonist who is actually of their preferred
gendersex (?? because Haruhi) and undergoes a resulting gayness freakout. So it was totally Grey's Anatomy again. Admittedly the first-time-with-a-girl surgeons are actively hilarious as well as alarming, but no actual crossdressing is going on, and only fairly mild makeouts on screen.

Date: 2015-05-18 07:44 pm (UTC)Just rewatched Swordsman II, the Hong Kong Cinema flick from the late 80s starring Brigitte Lin and Jet Li, speaking of crossdressing. :)
Also, recently watched Love Stage! on Crunchyroll, which has a boy falling for a boy in drag, and then, boy decides he still wants him after finding out what was under the skirt. Dumb as a stump story, but actually pretty entertaining for brainsmoothing purposes.

Date: 2015-05-20 03:31 am (UTC)There is much to love. Of course, one has to deal with the fact that most of the movies DO run like they've crammed a 700-page novel into each one. :)
