*sends warm wintergreen-laden thoughts to your knees*
Parents, man. I still remember my mom getting hospitalized for HER pneumonia when she was 76 or so and my dad didn't call me until she'd been in for two days. (After she'd been diagnosed with diabetes, too, and been put on insulin.) I made it clear that I was to be informed as instantly as possible if things are going south. My aunt is totally on my side in this, and she has taken it upon herself to call me when she's heard about an emergency in progress.
