cat aftercare improving
Dec. 22nd, 2009 02:55 pmDiz was NOT HAPPY to go back to the vet for a checkup today, but our cat-tormenting schedule was reduced again and she'll like that. Initially the deal was twice a day x (catch once: antibiotic tablet + opiate on the gums; then catch again 20 min later: wash out worst tooth socket with a syringe after the opiate numbs it). Then we ran out of the opiate, which reduced the number of (growing more traumatic) cat-catches by half so making us all much happier. Today we found out she's healing well, yay! And we only have to do the syringe one a day now. Only six pills to go.
The Cat Clinic of Seattle has been great throughout. They got all the bad teeth in one go, and there was no additional charge for the check today. There are office cats, and Feliway kitty mind control, and generally polite and cat-liking staff. A good place.
It's also helping that Wim and I are basically off work now, so we get to hang out with the cats apart from our evil tormentor duties. At least Dizzy no longer runs at the sight of us.
