Why can't HE have a fever for four days instead of me, is what I want to know. baratron, you okay? W & A & I have all been sick (or are still). I'm forbidden to go to school until 24 hours after my fever goes away, and I am becoming BORED.

Seriously, I am liking the Vicodin overly much and have started only letting myself take it in half-pills (which should just about cover my cough without getting me all that high).

I should probably buy a thermometer so I can verify when I do or don't have a fever; I can't go back to the medical center if I really think I have swine flu, and I will be putting people (who I have already exposed to this!) in a bad situation if I can't come in.

Yes, you need a thermometer! I didn't think you should have gone to the medical center in the first place, but I didn't figure I was going to be able to convince you in the face of a possibly jeopardized relationship with a colleague.

No one else at the lab seems to be sick, as I found out when someone called to check on me this morning, but we don't have a lot of stuff-touching overlap. Hopefully my foolishness in going in Wednesday for a while hasn't had any ill effects.

L. was mad at me for leaving early (after I'd come in late) on Thurs and saddling her with G's stuff (who was also sick). If I can't come in next week it will significantly fuck up her life, and RIGHT before she gets a job change she doesn't want. I guess if she's that upset, I'll probably break down crying in front of her or something, which would probably even things out.

Vicodin: 10 pills left.

I took two 1/2 pills this afternoon/tonight, and then probably one earlier today and one last night? Bottle says 1-2 tablets every 4-6 hours, max 8 in 24 hours. These were specifically prescribed for pain but the docs will give them for a cough now instead of syrup if you ask. I'm alternating with aspirin and then also taking Tums to protect my stomach.

Hmm. Appealing, yet it limits the possible contents of the soup. Cut-off pipet tips, like sowing seeds? Then we could use, um, poppyseed soup? Maybe not.

The part where they make me feel like there are bugs on my skin AND make me queasy balances out the 'safe and warm and pain-free' feeling pretty well.

This container is labeled as if it only had 15 tablets in it [and I almost never consolidate pills, JUST IN CASE THE BATCH IS POISONED]; I took one the other day when I had bad body aches, and probably took one for whatever it was prescribed for (probably an earache?).

So I am more responsible than I am making myself sound.

I am not that worried about your love for the V considering the other side effects, no. Mostly just curious, as I have never had it prescribed to me ever.

I think I fit some 'fat whiny loudmouth woman' profile better than you do, hence, I usually get overprescribed. Once they tried to give me like 30 - 50 pills for some minor problem and I was like HOLD ON THERE, COULD YOU GIVE ME A FEW LESS THAN THAT? Ever since then I've never gotten more than like 15 at a time so I wonder if they somehow set some 'typical level' on my chart, or if they are just refilling the same prescription.

Blargh. Sorry that you all got sick. From the descriptions, it sounds like you've had it worse than me. I've only been as ill as a mild cold/bad allergies. I'm certain this can't have been H1N1 because I haven't been feverish enough.

Now I seem to have a chest infection, though. (It's fairly usual for me to get secondary infections after colds.) So I'll have to go to the doctor in the morning. Yay.
