dear everyone: jinian is swell. please give her money. she will spend it on plants. possibly also on research. there is very little chance she will spend it on ice cream unless she shares with me if she knows what's good for her.
you could have no better choice for your grant than kylee.
she is very clever and has been known to practice plant identification while whizzing past at 70mph.
she will accomplish great things with your grant funds and will not spend her time making LOLplant pictures (despite my thinking this would be a brilliant idea).
my recommendation should be held in high regard as my uncle is a BIG DEAL in the academic plant world. and because i like pie.
You couldn't do better than jinian. She is wise and sensible, she writes reports that are a model of clarity (well, book reviews anyway) and she's generally a terrific person.
I think dessert-themed recomendation letters would be a real help in making an impression upon reviewers. Clearly I should remove my existing research proposal in favor of figures of pie- and ice-cream-eating methods.
