I am aware that there are many things in the world more painful and annoying than my menstrual periods.

But they don't happen anywhere near as goddamned often.

Also the Abenobashi manga is really stupid.

in college, one of my friends had a pocket knife that we referred to as the home hysterectomy kit. it was very pleasing to think about.

If I had been able, at thirteen when I first thought of it, to remove my uterus and cryogenically freeze it in case of later use, I could have missed approximately a GROSS of periods by now.

A book I was reading today referred to the part of Anne Frank's diary in which she says basically yes, it sucks, but that she has "a sweet secret," and I thought, NO IT JUST SUCKS. I think the lunar sisterhood people must not get cramps or backaches or headaches or sore girl bits. (My one datapoint so far supports this.) How they get past the inconvenient blood I am not sure, but absent the other doom I might be able to talk myself around.

I have never been sure whether a menstrual hut would be an improvement or just piss me off.

Sympathy for your painful periods, and a comment that what I saw of the Abenobashi anime was that it was not nearly as funny as it thought it was.

Given that we are sisterly alike in pain and aggravation for That Special Time, I vote for the "pissing off" aspect of the Menstrual Hut (Fingerhut? what?). Stock the MH with funny books (Discworld and Taltos preferred for me), chocolate, Advil, InSteads, and more chocolate.

Thanks. The doom didn't go on as long as it sometimes does, at least.

I actually enjoyed the Abenobashi anime, but the manga's pretty dumb, and the clarification of the bizarre ending that I had hoped to find did not work out. (Either they changed it for the manga or I was even more confused than I thought!)
